Solutions for Children to Thrive!
By correcting breathing and sleeping patterns we help the jaws develop naturally to make room for the teeth. This often eliminates the need for orthodontic treatment. This also reduces or eliminates the need to remove teeth to make room. Removing teeth makes breathing and sleep worse. Improving airway and eliminating mouth breathing reduces dental problems, gum disease, and cavities.

Pediatric Survey
There can be One Root Cause, Mouth Breathing or Sleep Apnea
Only in recent years has research established the connection between certain common childhood health and dental issues and a single likely cause- sleep disordered breathing
Sleep disordered breathing can be the result of obstructed airway, allergies, mouth breathing, or sleeping with pets. It can result in narrow or underdeveloped dental jaws. This creates crowding or orthodontic problems.
Common symptoms include snoring, grinding, mouth breathing, and difficulty focusing.
Early Detection and Timely Correction
Every orthodontic case started after age 12 is a compromise as leading orthodontic instructor Dr. Jay Gerber puts it. We highly recommend parents read “Your child’s best face” by Dr. Felix Liao. “Breathe” by James Nestor is another great read.
Ages 4-10 are the ideal time for initial correction to put your child on the path to fuller jaw growth for straighter teeth and fuller face. Starting early can help:
Avoid extraction of permanent teeth to alleviate crowding
Grow into full genetic potential facially, academically, athletically, and socially.
Prevent cranial, dental, and TMJ problems
Red Flags Recognized Early
Chronic allergies
Facial Asymmetries
ADHD
Receded Chin
Mouth Breathing
Earaches/Ear Tubes
Gummy Smile
Teeth Grinding
Headaches
Enlarged Tonsils
Long Face
Crowded/Crooked Teeth
Bed Wetting
A Holistic Mouth and Airway Checkup is the Starting Point
This is an easy appointment where we examine the mouth, face, airway, habits, etc. This involves no pain and no poking. We will do a 3-D image that allows us to see the shape of the jaw, the airways, sinuses, and nasal passages.
